AOSA PRE-COLLEGE RESEARCH PROGRAM
The Arecibo Observatory Space Academy is an intensve ten (10) week program for highly qualified pre-college students. They work as a team along field professionals in the development of a research project related to Space Exploration and Humans in Space. During the program, students develop their skills in mathematics, scientific research, teamwork, and English as a Second Language; while polishing their understanding of the Scientific Method. During the course of the program, students record their data and share their knowledge with their peers.
Cadets meet Saturdays from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, at the Arecibo Obervatory, however the workload expands to their school, home and communities.
Requirements for applicants:

Must have a genuine interest in Space!

Must have a genuine interest to participate

Basic Computer skills

Continuous internet/email and computer access

Basic understanding of the English language
To apply to the AOSA program students must be in 9th-12th grade at time of participation. Applicant must submit:

One (1) complete online application form wich includes:

A 500 word essay on a selected question found in the online application.

One (1) copy of your grades for the last 2 semesters

Applicants must send via email the documents requested on the online application.

Three (3) recommendation forms completed by Math, Science, Arts or English Teachers.
